May 7 (TheLedger) - Sri Lanka's Chief of Defence Staff concluded a brief visit to Male focused on widening search-and-rescue coordination corridors and aligning responses to illicit fishing hotspots picked up by satellite alerting.

Analysts read the optics as signalling continuity amid leadership transitions scheduled in both capitals early next year.
