ADB signs USD 250m credit line for small-business lending

May 8 (TheLedger) - The Asian Development Bank signed a USD 250 million credit line with the Sri Lankan government on Thursday to expand lending to micro, small, and medium enterprises.

The funds will be on-lent through Commercial Bank, HNB, and Sampath Bank at concessional rates, with at least 30% earmarked for women-owned enterprises and a further 25% ring-fenced for the apparel sector, which has been most exposed to the recent slowdown.
